Thunder Outreach feeds the need in Berks County!
Thunder Outreach, with the help of VF Outlet Center and Maple Grove Raceway, delivered a 1-2 punch to knock out hunger in Berks County by setting up back-to-back food drives.

The first event, the “Hot Rod Classic”, was a car-show held at the VF Outlet Center in Reading, PA. With nearly 150 cars and trucks and hundreds of spectators in attendance, the place was filled with excitement and goodwill as Thunder Outreach was able to collect more than 1,200-lbs of food and over $400 to help benefit the Greater Berks Food Bank. Those attending the event were treated to good deals, great food & family fun as both “Slap-shot” from the Reading Royals and “Screw-ball” of the Reading Phillies were on hand to bring a smile to the faces of young and old alike.
Maple Grove Raceway helped sweeten the deal by giving out $10 OFF coupons to anyone donating 10-lbs of food or $10 to the event. The $10 OFF coupon was redeemable at the Pinks ALL-OUT race the following weekend at Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton, PA. Arianne Chernich, Marketing Manager for VF Outlet Center, felt the event was a “Huge success!” and looks forward to partnering with Thunder Outreach on more community events in the future.

The second event, held at Maple Grove Raceway, had spectators from as far away as New York, New Jersey, Delaware & Maryland not only showing up for some serious “All-Out” racing as the “Pinks: ALL-OUT” reality-based TV-Show made a stop on its 2010 Tour, but also dropping off food and monetary donations to help fight hunger in the Berks County region. Event coordinators from Thunder Outreach and Maple Grove Raceway were both pleased with the overall outcome of the event and are already working on ways to improve the event next year!

East Coast Thunder Rally
Car Show and Food Drive
Pottstown, PA
Sponsored by Eastwood Company
Hundreds of custom cars and trucks, over 2000 lbs of food collected, close to a $1000 in donations and smiles from kids were priceless. The theme for this special community event, car show, food drive and open house was “Friends and families helping friends and families” and was truly shown through in everything that happened at the event. East Coast Thunder Rally, co-sponsored by the Eastwood Company and Thunder Outreach, again proving what a community can do when their focus is on blessing and positively touching lives in our community.
Custom cars and trucks were lined up to drop off their food donation as they moved into the car show field to spend the day just fellowshipping with other car and truck enthusiasts. Each vehicle stopped by the food donation tent of Thunder Outreach and was given and special personal thanks and blessing for their vehicle.
Kids where standing in awe looking up at the hug monster trucks and brightly painted custom vehicles as people walked through hundreds of vehicles and displays on the front lawn and parking lot of the Eastwood Company. TV Channel 69 News stopped by to do interviews and many friends and car clubs got to enjoy this special day that will also bless local families in need. Speaking with the employees from the Eastwood Company who hosted the event and volunteered their time you could feel how personally they were touched to be part of this special event.
Eastwood is an automotive tool and specialty supply company that is located here in Pottstown area but this is the first time that they were able to host an event at their company location on Shoemaker Rd. that was also an open house. The staff was very excited at the turnout and had nothing but great things to say about all the smiles and people they were able to interact with.
If you were not able to donate to the food drive or come to this outstanding event, you still can help. Hamburg Car Show Blessing #3
Hamburg, PA
What a great day to be at the 3rd annual car show and community event at Salem-Berne UMC church in Hamburg, PA.
Team Thunder got to see some old friends from last year's Car Show Blessing and meet many more. Many people told us about stories that had happened to them since last year and how God had been touching their lives. They proudly have their 2006 car show plaques with their show cars and were excited about us praying for them again.
We even had a man send a friend to find his wife who was walking around at the event and bring her back so we could pray for them as a family!
There was also a great story from another husband and wife team about working on their Camaro project car as part of helping her heal from a cancer surgery. We took time to talk and pray with them and she was in tears and thankful that we cared to stop, talk and pray with them.
God was moving through His people that day in many ways and even people from other churches who were there and saw what we were doing stopped us to ask us to come to car shows at their churches and pray for people there! We will see where God takes us next!
What a great way to spend a day blessing people's lives.

Hamburg Car Show Blessing
Hamburg, PA
With the clouds pulling back and the Blue sky coming through, it was a awesome day in the rolling hills of Hamburg Pennsylvania for the 2nd annual Car show at Salem-Berne UMC church.

Members of Thunder Outreach were able to talk with and pray blessings for people and vehicles who had come to this event. The people were very surprised and positively touched as Team Thunder spoke with them. Many hugs and thanks were given for this simple gesture of God's Love. People were heard making statements like "WOW," and "Thank you, This prayer means a lot to me," and "With the way some people drive, everyone can use prayer for safety and God's Blessings!"
The vehicle owners were given a Thunder Blessings plaque as a keepsake of this Blessing.
So we pray that God will also keep you safe as you drive - in Jesus's Name!
